Erasmus+ Special Needs Support
The Erasmus+ Programme aims at promoting equity and inclusion by facilitating the access
to participants with disadvantaged backgrounds and fewer opportunities compared to their
peers whenever disadvantage limits or prevents participation in transnational activities for
reasons such as disability (i.e. participants with special needs): people with mental
(intellectual, cognitive, learning), physical, sensory or other disabilities.
A person with special needs is a potential participant whose individual physical, mental or
health-related condition is such that his/her participation in the project / mobility action
would not be possible without extra financial support. Higher education institutions that have
selected students and/or staff with special needs can apply for additional grant support to the
National Agency in order to cover the supplementary costs for their participation in the
mobility activities.
Special needs students who are placed to an institution must approach the
Biruni Office of International Relations to receive further information about the National Agency’s special needs support application procedures (form and required supplemental documentation).
