Staj gördüğüm alanda birçok konuda deneyim kazandım ve farklı metotlarda tedavi yollarını öğrendim. Sadece isim olarak bildiğim elektroterapi uygulamalarını canlı görme fırsatını yakaladım. Bu staj, gelecek planlarımın şekillenmesinde önemli bir katkı sağladı. Bana kazandırdığı iyi bir iş deneyimi sayesinde özgüvenim arttı.
Buse Zeynep ÖZTEKİN – Odyoloji Bölümü – Pıazza Gambull Perugıa
Pıazza Gambull Hastanesinde vestibüler ve odyolojik olarak hastalardaki denge bozukluklarını, baş dönmeleri gibi konular için çeşitli manevralar yaptık ve işitme testlerini gerçekleştirdik. Koklear implant, otoskleroz ve stapedektomi gibi çeşitli ameliyatlarda rol aldım. Stajım öğretici, verimli ve mesleğimi ayrıntılarına kadar öğreten bir deneyim oldu.
Cavit ALLAHYAROV – Diş Hekimliği Bölümü – Torino Dental School
Erasmus stajımı İtalya’nın Torino şehrinde gerçekleştirdim. Stajım boyunca klinikte gözlem yaparak doktorları asiste ettim. Hocalarımın benimle kendi tecrübelerini paylaşması staj sürecimi daha da verimli bir hale getirdi.

Hırvatistan’ın Rijeka şehrinde stajımı tamamladım küçük bir şehir olmasına rağmen her şey çok güzeldi. Farklı insanlar ve farklı kültürleri tanımak bakış açımı genişletti. Dil anlamında zorlansam da yardımseverlikleri açısından kolayca alıştım. Bu sene dördüncü sınıfa geçiyorum dönem içi stajımda bütün öğrendiklerimi uygulamak için sabırsızlanıyorum.
Elif KURT – Diş Hekimliği Bölümü – Opera Tandarts
Öncelikle Erasmus programına bana Avrupa’da bu deneyimi, öğrenim sürecini kattığı için çok teşekkür ederim. Staj hareketliliği sayesinde yurtdışındaki doktorların kullandığı malzemeleri, yöntemleri olsun yaşam tarzlarını gözlemledim. Ayrıca farklı insanlarla iletişimde bulunmak, klinik ortamını görmek, yeni vakalarla karşılaşmak, önüme çıkabilecek her türlü zorlukta ne yapmam gerektiğini daha çok deneyimledim ve bunlar bana ilerdeki kariyerim boyunca çok yardımcı olacak ve asla unutamayacağım anılara sahip olmama aracı oldu. Hem kariyerimi hem de kişisel gelişimimi sürdürmek için çok önemli bir adımı tamamladığım için gurur duymaktayım.
Elif Su KAYRA – Diş Hekimliği Bölümü – Harry Klinger
İki aylık erasmus stajımda yurt dışında diş hekimliğinin işleyişi ve çalışma düzeni, doktorların hastalara yaklaşımları, işlemlerde kullanılan malzemeler gibi birçok şeyi gözlemleme ve bazı işlemleri kendim yaparak deneyimleme fırsatım oldu. Bol bol yeni vakalar görüp tedavi seçenekleri hakkında fikir alışverişi yaptıktan sonra hastalarla iletişim kurup işlemi yapan doktora yardımcı olabildim. Huzurevlerine gidip orda olan yaşlı hastalara oral hijyen eğitimi verip problemlerini dinleyip tedavi planlamalarını oluşturma sürecini gözlemleyebildim. Staj yaptığım klinikte edindiğim arkadaşlarımla boş zamanlarımızda bol bol sohbet etme imkanım olduğu için kültürleri hakkında bilgi edinebildim, yabancı dilim bu sayede gelişmiş oldu ve özgüvenim arttı. İki aylık bu tecrübenin ileride kariyerime büyük fayda sağlayacağına eminim ve çalışmış olduğum klinikten kabul aldığım için çok şanslı hissediyorum.
Fatma Bilge ALADAĞ – Diş Hekimliği Bölümü – Happy Smile Clinic
Güçlü bir kadın nasıl olur? İşini severek yapan bir diş hekimi nasıl olur? Bu sorularıma cevap bulduğum bir Erasmus stajı geçirdim diyebilirim. Staj hareketliliğim ile protez ve cerrahi ortodonti ve endodonti de çeşitli vakaları izleme şansı yakaladım. Diş Hekimliğinde kullanılan aletlerin iyi olmasının yanı sıra hekimlerin hepsinin bir alanda uzman olması, klinik işleyişini çok değiştiriyordu. Mesleğimi bana tekrar tekrar sevdiren klinik sorumlumuz Mila’ya çok şey borçluyum. Onun hayatından öğrendiğim şey: Hayatta ne yaşarsak yaşayalım kalkmalı ve yola devam etmeliyiz..
Mehmet Şafak ERGÜL – Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bölümü – University of Rijeka
Rijeka, Hırvatça’da “nehir” anlamına geliyor ve şehri ortadan ikiye bölen bir nehir akıyor. Rijeka marinası, vakit geçirmeyi en sevdiğim yerlerden biriydi. Marinadan devam ederek Port denilen kısımda yürümek de günlük yürüyüş ihtiyacını karşılayacak kadar büyük bir alan. Hırvatistanın en büyük 3. Şehri olmasına rağmen 128.000 kişinin yaşadığı küçük bir şehir olan Rijeka, en büyük limana ve güzel sahillere ev sahipliği yapıyor.
Merve ASAN – Diş Hekimliği – Negrea Tandartsen
Doktorumuzun her vakayı İngilizce açıklaması, implant vakalarında asiste etmeme izin vermesi gelişimimi daha da hızlandırdı. Bu imkanı bana sağladığı için çok teşekkür ederim. Tekrar tekrar deneyimlemek isteyeceğim bir tecrübe oldu.
Mustafa Yiğit EVKURAN – Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bölümü – University of Rijeka
Rijeka, Kuzey Adriyatik denizinin kıyısında, kestirilemeyen havası, çekici ve misafirperver insanlarıyla bir liman şehridir. İlk başta biraz durgun ve ağır çekim gibi görünebilir. Ama bir defa oraya vardığınızda hemen ısınıyorsunuz. Bununla birlikte farklı ülkelerden değişim programına gelen bizim gibi öğrenciler ile tanıştım ve çok iyi arkadaşlıklarım oldu. Geçen 2 ayım çok eğlenceli ve çok eğiticiydi. Güleryüzlü ve yardımsever personeller işimizi çok kolaylaştırdı. Özellikle bilmediğimiz hastalıklar konusunda bize yardımcı olarak açıklamalarda bulundular. Farklı teknikler öğreterek Türkiye’de öğrendiklerimizle kıyaslama fırsatı yakalamış oldum. D-wall, Anti-yerçekimi koşu bandı gibi teknolojik araçları kullandığım ve çalışma fırsatı bulduğum bir stajdı.
Nurtaç Zeynep KALKAN – Beslenme ve Diyetetik – Lusofona University
Bu yaz çok isteyerek planladığım Erasmus stajımı Portekiz- Lusofona Üniversitesinde gerçekleştirdim. Staj pozisyonum araştırma asistanıydı, akademiye ilgim olduğu için staj yeri bulma sürecimde araştırma ağırlıklı bir pozisyon arıyordum. Stajım 2 ay sürdü, ilk ayımı daha çok laboratuvarda çalışarak geçirdim. Danışman hocam ve 3 doktora öğrencisi ile diyabet hastalarında yararlı olabileceğine inandığımız bir polifenol üzerinde çalıştık. İkinci ay ise Akdeniz diyeti üzerine bir derleme yazarak sunumlarımı gerçekleştirdim. Hiçbir yerde edinemeyeceğim deneyimler ve tecrübe kazandım, her şey çok keyifli ve verimliydi. Üniversiteme ve en önemlisi üniversitemizin erasmus ofisine her zaman yanımda oldukları için çok teşekkür ederim.
Sezgin Lamia ALADAĞ – Diş Hekimliği Bölümü – Happy Smile Clinic
Hekimlik; sanılanın aksine sadece işini yapmak değil, hastalarını memnun etmek, işini en iyi şekilde yapmak, asistanlarınla, meslektaşlarınla ve diğer çalışanlarla koordineli bir biçimde olmaktır. Karşılaştığım zorlukların ve olumsuzlukların beni yıldırmaması ve engellememesi gerektiğini anlamama yardımcı olan Happy Smile doktorlarına ve asistanlarına minnettarım. Aklımda uzmanlık için herhangi bir bölüm belirleyemiyor dahası uzmanlık gerekli mi diye bile sorabiliyordum. Buraya gelince anladım ki bir alanda uzmanlığım olmalı ve en az iki alanda da kurslara giderek kendimi geliştirmeliyim. Ancak bu şekilde işimin hakkını vererek çalışabilir ve diş hekimliğinde daha bütünsel bir bakış açısı ile yaklaşabilirim. Erasmus programı ile geldiğim bu kliniğe gönül bağı kurarak ayrıldım. Diş hekimliğini bana bir kez daha sevdirdikleri için ve hekimlikte kendime güvenimi arttırdıkları için tüm Happy Smile çalışanlarına içtenlikle teşekkür ediyorum.

Rijekada staj deneyimimde fizyoterapist olmak için gerekenler ve genel olarak kendim hakkında çok şey öğrendim. Erasmus ile yaşadığım bu deneyim, kariyer yolculuğumdaki ilk önemli adımdı ve dürüstçe söyleyebilirim ki, bu yolculuk boyunca çok büyüdüm. Güçlü ve zayıf yönlerim daha belirgin hale geldikçe, staj deneyimim çeşitli zorluklar ve heyecanlardan oluşuyordu. Bu yolculuk boyunca, daha ne kadar öğrenmem gerektiğinin yanı sıra gerçekten ne kadar çok öğrenmek istediğimi fark ettim. Stajımdan önce dil bariyerinden dolayı hastalarla çalışmak konusunda endişeliydim, profesyonel bir ortamda iletişim becerilerime güvenmiyordum ve nihayet eğitimimi ve bilgilerimi gerçek yaşam ortamına uygulama konusunda kararsızdım. Ancak Rijeka’da staj yapmak bana sadece bunların hepsini yapabildiğimi gösterdi. Her gün bana yeni sorumluluklar, görevler ve özgürlük verildi, bu da yalnızca sürekli bir öğrenme ve büyüyen bir deneyime katkıda bulundu. Size çeşitli görev ve sorumluluklarımı anlatmak için hepsinin pratik yaptığını söyleyerek başlayacağım. Görevlerim şunları içeriyordu: evrak işleri, günlük hasta çizelgeleri, hastaların egzersizleri konusunda rehberlik ve çeşitli modalitelerde yardım. El ele verme fırsatına sahip olmayı sevdim; Vasopnömatik makineyi çalıştırmayı ve ısı modalitelerine yardımcı olmanın yanı sıra, farklı yaralanma bölgelerine göre uygun elektriksel stimülasyon pedi yerleşimlerini nasıl yapacağımı öğrendim. Zaman ilerledikçe ve personel ve hastalarla olan deneyimim ve bağlantılarım büyüdükçe, hafta içi her seferinde bir sonraki staj günümü dört gözle beklerken buldum. Birlikte çalışma fırsatı bulduğum tüm hastalar deneyimimi gerçekten bütünleştirdi. Öğrenmem ve sürekli soru sormam boyunca hepsi çok harika, eğlenceli, sabırlı ve anlayışlıydı. Ve Rijeka’daki personel tek kelimeyle inanılmazdı. Tüm yol boyunca bana rehberlik etmeye ve öğretmeye yardımcı oldular. Sorularım her zaman memnuniyetle karşılandı ve çalışmalarım her zaman takdir edildi. Staj sürem boyunca ilişki kurduğum ve asla unutamayacağım pek çok deneyim ve insan var. Bana inanılmaz ilham veren bir süpervizörü sahip olduğum için şanslıydım. Bir gün olmayı umduğum bir fizyoterapistin özeti. Onunla staj yapmak bana kariyeri konusunda gerçekten tutkulu birini gösterdi. Ayrıca, fizyoterapistlerin her gün hastaların yaşamlarında yaratabilecekleri farkı şimdi anladım ve deneyimledim. Burada bulunduğumdan beri hastaların yaptığı ilerici değişiklikleri görmek kesinlikle şaşırtıcıydı. Hepsi acı, rahatsızlık ve hareketsizlik olmadan normal yaşama dönmeyi o kadar çok istiyor ki. Fiziksel terapistler, insanların oraya ulaşmasına yardımcı olacak gücü kavrar. Bunu inanılmaz derecede ödüllendirici buluyorum ve bir gün bir insanın hayatını bu şekilde değiştirmeyi umuyorum. Rijeka’da staj yapmak, gözlerimi daha geniş bir perspektife, daha iyi anlamaya ve gelecekteki kariyerim olarak fizik tedaviye karşı daha büyük bir tutkuya açtı. Ve bir kapı kapanıyor olsa da, bu staj sona erdiği için, deneyim gelecekteki yolculuğum için çok daha fazla kapı açtı.
Zeynep PULGU – Diş Hekimliği – Dental Care East & West
Ben diş hekimliği öğrenci olarak Amsterdam’a Erasmus staj programıyla gittim. Bir diş kliniğinde staj programımı tamamladım. En baştan anlatmak gerekirse staj yapılacak yeri bulmak zorlu gibi görünse de fazlaca mail ve tatlı dilli bir niyet mektubuyla her şey kolayca hallediliyor. Gerisi hayal dünyasına yolculuk gibi zaten. Erasmus Programı boyunca çok farklı insanları ve kültürleri tanıma fırsatı buluyorsunuz. Orada belli bir sure geçirip yaşama deneyiminde bulunacağınız için oranın yerlisi gibi hissediyorsunuz. İngilizcenizin gelişeceği ihtimalinden söz etmiyorum bile. Kendinize her anlamda çok şey katacağınız efsane bir deneyim. Yeni bir ülkeyi keşfetmek, yeni ve farklı düşünen insanlarla sohbet etmek, kendi meslek alanındaki farklı yöntemleri incelemek ve kıyaslama yapıp bunu hayatınıza katmak bunlardan sadece birkaçı. Kültürel, dinsel ve toplumsal farklılıkların çatışma ortamı yaratmak yerine uyum içerisinde bir arada bulunabileceği ve bunun en büyük zenginlik olduğu gerçeğiyle karşılaşıyorsunuz. Diğer ülkeri de gezip görme fırsatınız oluyor. Bence bu süreç sadece yeni bir ülkeyi ya da insanları tanımak değil, kendinizi yeniden keşvedip tanıma fırsatı. Kısa sürede olsa bu 2 ay boyunca bazı zorluklarla tek başınıza mücadele edebilme deneyimini kazanıyorsunuz. Gerek konaklama konusunda yaşayabileceğimiz sorunlar gerekse hastalık bu süreçte kendi ayaklarınızın üzerinde durabilme hissiyatını tattığınız konular. Akademik olarak ise bölümünüzün dünya çerçevesinde ne aşamada olduğunu görüyorsunuz. Yeni methodlar, gelişmiş teknoloji, insanlara karşı yaklaşım şekli başta olmak üzere bir çok şeyi gözlemliyorsunuz. İleride hayatınıza ve mesleğinize ne gibi şanslar verebileceğinizi görüyorsunuz. Ülkenizle karşılaştırmada bulunup geliştirme seçeneklerine yöneliyorsunuz. Tabi ki geri dönünce birtakım hayal kırıklıkları oluyor. Ama gelin biz olaya unutulamayacak bir deneyim yaşamış gibi bakalım.
Alper CEYLAN – Diş Hekimliği – Zahnarztpraxis Dr. Med. Dent. FrankSchaudlt
Almanya’da bir diş kliniğinde yaklaşık 2,5 ay staj yapma fırsatım oldu, bu süre zarfında kısmen,hem Almanca diş hekimliği terminolojisini öğrendim hem de Almancam gelişti. Bence bu programın bana en büyük katkısı içinde bulunduğum sınırlı süre boyunca buradaki hasta-hekim ilişkisini gözlemlememdi. Türkiye’dekine nazaran oldukça stressiz ve daha iyi bir iletişimin olduğu çok açıktı. Çalışma şartları ve kullanılan ekipmanların kalitesinin de daha iyi olduğu gibi. Hastalar, hekim komutlarını daha iyi algılayabiliyor ve kooperasyon sağlıyorlardı. Diş hekimliği açısından sigorta sistemi ise hasta için oldukça avantajlı hekimler içinse bir o kadar değildi. Kültürel olarak ise Almanya’nın mimarisinin oldukça güzel olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Kültürlerini gerçekten çok güzel bir şekilde muhafaza etmişler. 17. Veya 18. Yüzıldan bir yapı görmek oldukça sıradaniken daha eski yapılar da neredeyse her yerde mevcut. Kasabalarda bile bulunduğunuz yer ile ilgili müzeler var ancak çok merkezi yerlerdeki müzeler dışında açıklamalar genellikle Almanca’ydı. Türkiye’nin en ücra köşesine bile gitseniz bir kebabçının menüsünde İngillizce açıklamalar bulabilirsiniz, bu da Almanların kendi kültürlüyle ne kadar ilgili bizim ise ne kadar dışa bağımlı olduğumuzu gösteriyor. Genel olarak Erasmus stajımın güzel bir tecrübe olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Bu programa katıldığım için oldukça memnunum.
Asena AKSOY – Diş Hekimliği – Adeli J.K. Zahnarztpraxis
Bu yaz stajımı Almanyanın Frankfurt şehrinde bir klinike gerçekleştirdim. Bu program, hem kendimi geliştirip hem de Avrupa kültürünü yakından tanımama sebep oldu. Hem mesleki hem de dil konusunda yararlı bir staj geçirdim. Üniversitemizin Uluslararası İlişkiler Ofisi bu konuda çok yardımcı oldu ve en iyi şekilde destekleyip her konu da yardımcı oldular.
Berat ORMAN – Diş Hekimliği – Clinica Lusiadas Almada
Bu sene açılan erasmus stajı kapsamında Avrupa ülkelerinin birinde staj yapma hakkı kazandım. Bende tercihimi adını çok sık duyduğum ve beni diğer Avrupa ülkelerinden çok daha cezbeden Lizbondan yana kullandım. Kliniğime gelecek olursak dillerini bilmemem ve halkın ne kadar İngilizce bildiğini bilmediğim için ilk gün çok gergindim. Ama diğer Avrupa ülkelerinden farklı olarak gerek Doktorum gerekse Portekiz halkı yüksek oranda İngilizce bilmekte olup dil konusunda sonraları hiç sorun yaşamadım. Diş hekimliği işleyişinin çok farklı olabileceğini bizden daha yüksek teknolojide aletler kullanıyor olacaklarını düşünmeme ve gittiğim kliniğinde ortalamanın üstünde bir yer olmasına rağmen tek fark nadiren kullandıkları 3d tarayıcı idi. Portekizli hastaların fazlasıyla sıcak ne neşeli olması gibi ilginç bir farkda vardı. Benim zamanım genel olarak doktorumun işlemlerini izlemek ve onun bana açıkladığı bazı önemli noktaları not etmekle geçmekteydi. Portekiz ise gerek çok farklı kültürden insanlar barındırması gerek Avrupanın tercih edilen tatil yeri olması gerek okyanus kenarında yer alması, İstanbula olan benzerliği (bitmek bilmeyen yokuşları, şehrin heryerini görebileceğiniz 7 tepesi, farklı milletlerin iç içe olması ) gerekse meşhur tatlıları ile gerçek bir cennet. Bu 2 aylık süreç boyunca elimden geldiğince farklı insanlarla tanışmaya onların kültürlerini tanımaya nasıl hissettiklerini anlamaya çalıştım ve mesleğimin dünyanın diğer bir ucunda nasıl işlediğini öğrenmekle geçirdim. Sanırım bunları tek başıma yapmış olmamlada hem bir tecrübe edindim hemde anılar biriktirdim.
İsmail İshak ARSLAN – Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik – Technical University of Munich
Erasmus+ aracılığıyla Münih Teknik Üniversitesinde Ekoloji üzerine yaptığım stajda akademik, sosyokültürel ve pratik anlamda çok kıymetli deneyimler edindim. Bu deneyimlere örnek verecek olursam; Yeni insanlarla tanışarak İngilizce konuşma pratiği yaptım, Alman kültürüne ve insanına karşı sahip olduğum önyargıları yıkarak halka karıştım, Ekoloji ile ilgili çalışmalarda bulunarak iklim değişikliği gibi hayati mevzular hakkında daha bilinçli bir birey oldum, Çevreye duyarlılıkları beni de duyarlı olmaya yöneltti, daha sakin biri oldum ve yüksek lisans yapma adına önizlenimlerde bulundum.
Sama FARAZİ – Diş Hekimliği – Adeli J.K. Zahnarztpraxis
Almanya’nın Frankfurt şehrinde Erasmus programı aracılığıyla staj yaptım. Bu staj benim için çok yararlı ve öğretici olmakla beraber dil bilgisi konusunda da kendimi geliştirmeme, güçlü ve zayıf yönlerimi fark etmeme yardımcı oldu. Üniversitemizin Uluslararası İlişkiler Direktörlüğünün desteğinden bahsetmem gerekirse gerçekten harikaydı her konuda en iyi şekilde bana yardım edip yönlendirdiler.
Sevgi BAYRAKTAR – Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik – University of Bonn
3 aylık Erasmus stajımda Bonn Üniversitesi LIMES enstitüsünde çalıştım. Stajım boyunca daha önce deneyimlemediğim farklı olanaklarda tecrübe edinme ve yeni deneyimler kazanma fırsatım oldu. Tanıştığım arkadaşlarım bu deneyimimi daha eğlenceli geçirmem konusunda yardımcı oldular. Herkesin yardımsever, güleryüzlü ve öğretmeye açık olması hem alışma hem de öğrenme sürecimi kolaylaştırdı. Erasmus bana hem kişisel hem de akademik olarak kendimi geliştirmemde çok şey kattı. Yeniden katılabilmeyi dört gözle bekliyorum.

Merhaba, Biruni Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi 5. Sınıf öğrencisiyim. Bu yaz Almanya’da Erasmus stajını yapma fırsatım oldu. Zeynep Sena YILDIRIM – Diş Hekimliği – Kliniek Sint – Jan Clinique Saint – Jean
Erasmus Programı kapsamında 2 ay Belçika’nın Brüksel şehrinde bulundum. Erasmus Programı boyunca çok farklı insanları ve kültürleri tanıma fırsatı buldum. Kültürel, toplumsal farklılıkların çatışma ortamı yaratmak yerine uyum içerisinde bir arada bulunabileceği ve bunun en büyük zenginlik olduğunu gözlemleme fırsatı elde ettim. Ayrıca Belçika’da bulunduğum süre boyunca başka ülkelere gidip görme şansım oldu. Kültürel farklılıkları görme açısından bana oldukça katkısı oldu. Pratik yaptığım için yabancı dilimi de geliştirmiş oldum.
Akademik olaraksa staj yaptığım klinik bana birçok yeni tedavi şekillerini görmeme katkı sağladı. Yaşadığım ülkeyle yurt dışındaki imkanları karşılaştırmama fırsat verdi. Belki de cerrah olmadan göremeyeceğim çene ameliyatlarına girmeme imkan sağladı. Alanımla ilgili teknolojik bazı yenilikleri de görmemi sağladı.
Ahmet Furkan SAY – Tıp Fakültesi – Lahntalklinik Bad Ems
Öncelikle staj yaptığım kurum; hastaların ortopedik ameliyatlarından sonra hareketsel kısıtlılığını minimuma indirmek için gelip 3 hafta boyunca tedavilerine devam ettikleri bir klinikti. Rehabilitasyon boyunca hastaların klinikte kaldıkları oda numaralarından takipleri sağlanmaktaydı. Hastaların 3 çeşit tedavileri vardı; Aufnahmeuntersuchung ( ilk tedavi ), Visit ( 3 hafta boyunca haftada 2-3 kez yapılan tedavi ve şikayetleri) ve Abschlussuntersuchung ( Son tedavileri yapılır ve son durumları değerlendirilir gerekiyorsa 1 hafta daha hastanın kalması gereken süre stajımda bağlı kaldığım doktor tarafından uzatılmaktaydı). Gözlem süresinde her sabah kliniğin şefi ve görev yapmakta olan doktorlarla beraber toplantılara katıldım. Toplantıda bir gece önce nöbette olan doktor aktarımları yapıyordu. Stajımda daha önce Türkiye’de bir staj yapmadığım için hastalarla birebir ilgilenmem veya işlem yapmam mümkün olmasa da gözlem yaptığım doktorun yanında tedavinin nasıl yapıldığını, hangi ilaçların kullanıldığını, hastane işleyiş sistemini ve Almanyadaki sağlık sistemi hakkında bilgiler öğrendim. Hatta imkanların el verdiği ölçüde hastaların dikiş yaralarını sterilize ettim ve dikişlerini aldım. Sonuç olarak benim için çok güzel bir tecrübeydi. Umarım önümüzdeki sene de herhangi bir Klinik ya da Praxiste tekrar staj yapma imkanı bulabilirim.
Ali KELEŞ – Beslenme ve Diyetetik – Lusofona Üniversitesi
Ben Ali Keleş, Biruni Üniversitesi 4. sınıf Beslenme ve Diyetetik öğrencisiyim. Bu yaz çok isteyerek planladığım Erasmus stajımı, Portekiz Lizbon’da bulunan Lusofona Üniversitesi’nde gerçekleştirdim. Staj pozisyonum araştırma asistanıydı. Stajım 2 ay sürdü ve stajımı laboratuvarda çalışarak geçirdim. Danışman hocam ve 1 doktora öğrencisi ile birlikte “şarap üzümünden un eldesi ve elde edilen unun besinsel içeriği ve biyoyararlılığı” konulu projenin ar-ge sürecinde, laboratuvarda analizler ve ölçümler yaptım. Elde ettiğim sonuçların ve analizlerin üzerine bir derleme yazdım ve sunumlar gerçekleştirdim. Hiçbir yerde edinemeyeceğim deneyimler ve tecrübe kazandım, her şey çok keyifli ve verimliydi. Üniversiteme ve en önemlisi üniversitemizin erasmus ofisine her zaman yanımda oldukları için çok teşekkür ederim.
Barkın TOYDEMİR – Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik – Örebro Üniverstesi
ERASMUS+ aracılığı ile başta Örebro Üniversitesi ve danışmanım olan Steffen Keiter iş birliği dolayısıyla, Karolinska Enstitüsü ile çalışma fırsatı yakaladım. Bu deneyimler sayesinde, birçok bilim insanı ve de birçok mükemmel insan ile tanışmış oldum. Kazanmış olduğum bu inanılmaz deneyimlerin hayatımın her anında pozitif yönde karşıma çıkacağına eminim.

Begüm Özge ULUKAVAK – Eczacılık – Porto Üniversitesi
Merhaba, ben Biruni Üniversitesi, eczacılık fakültesi 4. Sınıf öğrencisi Begüm Özge Ulukavak. 2021-2022 Erasmus öğrenimi programı kapsamında gittiğim okulla konuştuktan sonra orada staj yapmak için kabul aldım. Stajım Porto Üniversitesi, Eczacılık fakültesi, Mikrobiyoloji anabilim dalında gerçekleşti. Stajım boyunca mikrobiyoloji anabilim dalında laboratuvar çalışmalarını ve genel işleyişini gözlemledim. Sterilizasyon, ekipmanların kullanımı, sterilizasyon için katı ve sıvı malzemelerin hazırlanması, farklı kültür ortamlarının hazırlanması, aseptik tekniğin prensipleri ve genel teknikler ve protokoller hakkında bilgi edindim. Türkiye’de mikrobiyoloji laboratuvarında kullanılan teknikler ile Portekiz’de kullanılan teknikleri karşılaştırma fırsatım oldu. Benim için çok değerli bir tecrübe oldu. Stajım sırasında konuşma dilim İngilizce olduğu için kendimi geliştirme şansım oldu. Avrupa’da üniversitede çalışmanın nasıl olduğunu gördüm. Akademik kariyerime katkısının yanı sıra kendime bir çok yönden çok katkısı oldu. Temel seviyede Portekizce konuşmaları anlamaya başladım. Eğer yeni bir ülkede yaşamayı deneyimlemek istiyorsanız ve bunun için cesaretliyseniz Erasmus programını deneyimlemenizi tavsiye ederim.
Berrak Şimal Poyraz – Diş Hekimliği – Mondzorg Amsterdam
Amsterdam’da Erasmus programıyla birlikte olmak benim için son derece yararlı oldu. Staj yaptığım klinikteki insanların ve hastaların sıcak tavırları, yaşadığım şehir üzerindeki perspektifimi olumlu yönde etkiledi. Amsterdam halkının yaşam tarzlarını gözlemlemek, kültürümüzü karşılıklı olarak paylaşma ve farklı fikirlere sahip kişilerle etkileşimim olumlu yönde gelişti. Şehrin doğayla iç içe olması, halkın sanata yatkınlığı ve insanların dostça yaklaşımı beni çok etkiledi.
Büşra KALENDER – Sağlık Yönetimi – Happy Erasmus Valencia
Temmuz 2022 tarihinde Valencia,İspanya’da başlamış olduğum Erasmus stajım Eylül 2022’de son bulmuştur. 2 aylık Erasmus Stajı sürecim boyunca birçok yönden geliştiğimi düşünüyorum. Öncelikli olarak artık akıcı bir şekilde İngilizce konuşabiliyorum ve İspanyolca başlangıç seviyesinde İspanyolca dil bilgim oluştu. Erasmus öğrencilerine yönelik turizm şirketinde çalıştım ve şirketin sosyal medyasını yöneterek ofisin daha çok kitleye ulaşmasına yardımcı oldum, ofis ortamında çalışarak proje yönetimi yaptım, geziler düzenleyerek gezilerde rehberlik yaptım ve ofisin pazarlama bölümünde yer alarak satış yaptım. Bu süreçte pazarlama departmanına olan ilgim arttı ve pazarlama bölümünde master yapma gibi bir düşüncem oluştu. Bu süreçte çok farklı kültürlerden insanlarla tanışıp çok iyi arkadaşlar edindim ve artık dünyaya çok farklı bir perspektiften bakıyorum.
Doğa BÜYÜKPINAR – Beslenme ve Diyetetik – My Slim Form
Erasmus staj programına Biruni Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Beslenme ve Diyetetik Bölümü öğrencisi olarak 2022 yaz döneminde Almanya’nın Viernheim şehrinde, My SlimForm adlı kurumda 62 gün staj yaptım. Bu staj süresince gerek akademik gerekse sosyal yaşantım açısından çok önemli tecrübeler edindim. Staj süresince farklı kültürlere, uyruklara sahip birçok insanla tanışma fırsatı buldum. Yurtdışında yabancı olarak yaşamanın ve insanlarla iletişim kurmanın kazandırdığı sosyal yaşam tecrübesi, kişisel gelişimime çok önemli katkılarda bulundu. Birçok uluslararası dostluklar kurdum ve bu benim kendime olan özgüvenimi artırdı. Her yönüyle Erasmus programına katılmadan önceki durumuma göre pozitif yönde geliştiğime ve değiştiğime inanıyorum. Ülkemi ve kültürümüzü en iyi şekilde tanıtmak ve temsil etmek için elimden geleni yaptım. Ek olarak yaptığım stajın ingilizceyi daha akıcı bir şekilde konuşmama oldukça faydası oldu. Ayrıca Almanya’da yaşayan biri gibi günlük hayatın içine girmek benim için çok farklı ve güzel bir deneyim oldu. Akademik açıdan ülkemizde kullanılmayan farklı diyet ve değerlendirme tekniklerini gözlemleme şansım oldu. Almanya’daki insanların sağlıklı beslenmeye olan bakış açısını gözlemledim ve farklı antropometrik ölçüm cihazlarını inceleme şansım oldu. Bunların da mesleki açıdan ufkumu ilerletmemde oldukça faydası oldu. Yanında staj yaptığım diyetisyen bana her konuda destek oldu ve oldukça yardımseverdi. Kendi bilgilerini ve tecrübesini bana aktarmada oldukça yeterliydi. Genel olarak katılmış olduğum ERASMUS staj hareketliliği kültürel, sosyal ve akademik açıdan kendimi geliştirmemi sağladı. Daha sorumluluk sahibi bir insan olmamı sağladı. Bir süreliğine yabancı bir ülkede yaşamış olmanın bana kattığı sosyal ve kültürel deneyimler çok değerli ve kişisel gelişimimde bana önemli ölçüde faydası dokundu.
Burcu İrem SÖNMEZ – Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik – Heinrich – Heine – Universitat
2 ay süren Erasmus stajımı Almanya, Düsseldorf Heinrich Heine Universitesi, Botanik Enstitüsü’nde tamamladım. Staj sürem boyunca gerek laboratuvar çalışanlarının, gerekse genel olarak Düsseldorf’ta tanıştığım herkesin oldukça nazik, yardımsever ve güleryüzlü olması, hem laboratuvara hem de şehre alışmamı kolaylaştırdı. İlk stajım olması ve okulumuzda genellikle hayvan biyolojisi ağırlıklı derslerin olması sebebiyle, laboratuvarda çalışılan bitki moleküler biyolojisi tamamıyla yabancı olduğum bir alandı. Fakat özellikle danışmanım Mather Khan’ın yardımı ve sabrıyla bu bir problem oluşturmadı. 2 ayda alabileceğim en iyi eğitimi aldım ve çok şey öğrendim. Benim için inanılmaz güzel bir deneyimdi. Erasmus’a gitme kararı hayatımda aldığım en doğru karardı.
Derya AKTAŞ – Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik – Techische Universitat Dresden
Erasmus+ program ile Dresden Teknik Universitesi, Biyoloji Fakültesi, mikrobiyoloji alaninda Prof. Thorsten Mascher’in laboratuvarında yaz stajimi yapma sansim oldu. 06.06.2022 – 30.09.2022 tarihleri arasında, Dr. Diana Wolf ve PhD ogrencisi Tomislav Volosen’in danışmanlığında Almanya’da harika bir staj deneyimi yaşadım. Alman disiplini ve profesyonellik anlayışını, labaratuvar çalışması ile ilgili bütün teknik konuları saygı ve arkadaşlık ortamında, kusursuz bir denge içinde öğrenme fırsatım oldu. Genel mikrobiyoloji ve yürüttüğüm projenin konusu ile ilgili son derece değerli teorik bilgilerin yaninda kaliteli ve donanimli bir labaratuvarda Pratik yapma fırsatına sahiptim. Bütün bu çalışmaları yaparken tüm grup ile çok eğlenceli aktivitelere katılıp, kaliteli zaman geçirdim. Bu eşsiz deneyim ve bana katkıları için Prof. Thorsten Mascher, Dr. Diana Wolf ve grubun geri kalan tum çalışanlarına teşekkürlerimi sunuyorum. Hem staj öncesi hemde staj sürecinde bize olan destek ve yardımları için başta Rusen Bozdogan ve Ebru Çelik olmak üzere tüm Biruni Üniversitesi Uluslararasi Ofis çalışanlarına teşekkür ederim.
Doğa SABANCI – Diş Hekimliği – Kliniek Sint-Jan Clinique Saint-Jean
Erasmus+ sayesinde en güzel yazlarımdan birini geçirdim. 2022 yazında 2 aylığına Brüksel’deki büyük bir hastanenin kliniğinde staj yaptım. Gittiğim hastanenin imkanlarının çok iyi olması sayesinde Türkiye’deki kliniklerde daha önce karşılaşmadığım son teknoloji aletlerle tanışmış oldum. Bunun yanında cerrahi alanda uzmanlık yapmadığım sürece izleyemeyeceğim büyük ameliyatları izleme imkanım da oldu. Elbette erasmus sadece akademik anlamda bana tecrübe katmakla kalmadı, stajım esnasında gezebileceğim bolca vaktim de oldu. Bu sayede yeni yerler görüp yeni insanlarla tanışmış oldum.
Helin Serap ERTEKİN – Diş Hekimliği – Universita Degli Studi Di Torino
Ben Helin Serap Ertekin. Diş hekimliği fakültesi öğrencisiyim. Eramus staj hareketliliği kapsamında 1 Temmuz-1 Eylül 2022 tarihleri arasında Torino Üniversitesi Dental School’da staj yaptım. Torino Üniversitesi hastanesi güncel diş hekimliği yaklaşımlarında oldukça gelişmiş ve teknolojik imkanlara sahip bir yerdi. Sağlık teknolojisi açısından önemli bir yere sahip olan simülatörlerle çalışıyorlardı ve benim de bunu deneyimleme fırsatım oldu. Tüm tedavi ve takip prosedürlerini gözlemleme ve içinde bulunma imkanım olduğu için çok şanslıydım. Öte yandan üniversitenin uluslararası öğrencisi çok fazla olduğu için farklı kültürleri tanıma imkanı buldum. Deneyimli ve işinde oldukça başarılı profesörlerin deneyimleri kariyer hayatımda önemli bir yere sahip olacak. Aynı zamanda hafta sonları ve tatillerde farklı Avrupa şehirlerini gezmek ve görmek oldukça ufuk açıcıydı. Erasmusa katılmak isteyen herkese kesinlikle bu deneyimi tatmalarını öneriyorum.
İlkben DURUSOY – Diş Hekimliği – Zahnartztin R. Bektaş
Ben, Biruni Üniversitesi 5. Sınıf Diş hekimliği öğrencisi İlkben Durusoy. 2021-2022 eğitim yılının yaz döneminde Erasmus programına katıldım. Bu proje kapsamında Almanya’nın Köln kentinde bulunan bir diş kliniğinde 2 ay boyunca staj yaptım. Almanya’da İngilizce konuşma oranının yüksek olması ve Türk yoğunluğu nedeniyle ülkeye adapte olma konusunda bir sorun yaşamadım. Stajım boyunca Köln dışında Almanya’nın Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Heidelberg gibi birçok şehrini gezme fırsatım oldu. Bu sayede Almanya’nın tarihi hakkında bilgi edindim ve başlangıç seviyesinde Almanca öğrendim. Bunun yanında, yakın olan İsviçre, Hollanda, Fransa, Belçika gibi ülkeleri de gezip görme imkanım oldu. Bu ülkelerin kültürlerini öğrenmek ve farklı insanlarla tanışmak bana sosyal anlamda çok katkı sağladı. Klinikte ise hastayı karşılama ve muayene etme, röntgen çekme, ölçü alma, diştaşı temizleme, fissür örtücü uygulama ve geçici protez yapma, sterilizasyon aşamaları gibi birçok alanda bilgi sahibi olup,
pratik yapma fırsatı buldum. Almanya’nın sigorta sistemi, klinik yönetimi ve hasta kayıt platformunu öğrendim. Tedaviler sırasında birçok vakayı gözlemleme ve diş hekimi ile birlikte değerlendirme şansım oldu. Bunların yanı sıra küçük bir implantoloji atölyesi gerçekleştirdik.
Kısacası bu proje benim için mesleki ve kültürel anlamda bana çok fazla katkı sağlayan, adeta ufkumu genişleten bir deneyim oldu. Hayatım boyunca unutamayacağım anılar biriktirdim. İmkan bulabilen herkesin Erasmus programına katılmasını tavsiye ederim.
Sena ALTAY – Diş Hekimliği – Dr. Med. dent. Orcan Yüksel Zahnarzt
Herkese merhaba! Bugün ilk staj deneyimimi sizinle paylaşmak istiyorum. Zahnarztpraxis Dr. OrcanYüksel’de iki aylık staj yaptım. Erasmus+ staj dönemim Haziran başında başladı ve Ağustos ayında sona erdi. Doğruyu söylemek gerekirse, Erasmus+ programı ile staj yapmak hayatınızda yeni şeyler yaşamak için önemli bir fırsattır. Yabancı bir ülkeye gitmek, burs almak, boş zamanınızda seyahat etmek, dil becerilerinizi geliştirmek, farklı bir kültür deneyimi yaşamak. Stajimin ilk günlerinde klinikte birçok insanla tanıştım. Bunu düşünün, İngilizce bilmeseler bile sizinle iletişim kurmaya ve bildiklerini size öğretmeye çalışıyorlar. Süpervizörüm Dr. CAN Gezci klinikteki hastayla ilgilenirken ona yardımcı oldum. Bu arada her hastayla yeni bilgiler ve deneyimler kazandım. Özellikle prostetik planlama ve implant destekli protezler hakkında çok sayıda yeni bilgi edindim. Klinikte protezlerin yapıldığı bir laboratuvar vardı. Laboratuvarda porselen ve metal malzemelerden yapılan diş protezlerini yakından inceledim. Aslında, birçok cerrahiyi izleme fırsatı buldum, bu açıdan çok şanslıydım. İmplant ameliyatlarında açık sinüs kaldırma, kapalı sinüs kaldırma ve greft tedavileri gözlemledim. Farklı kültürlerden birçok insanla tanıştım. Farklı kültürleri ve yaşam tarzlarını görme fırsatı buldum. Ufklarımı genişlettim. Avrupa’da tek başıma 2 ay kalarak çok iyi deneyimlerim oldu. Erasmus + staj bana her alanda çok iyi deneyim ve bilgi sağladı.
Ahmet Hakan GÖRKAY – Biyomedikal Mühendisliği – Uniklinik RWTH Aachen
Staj sırasında birçok yeni laboratuvar tekniği öğrendim, yeni arkadaşlar edindim, birçok şehri ziyaret ettim, farklı kültürleri öğrendim ve farklı yiyecek ve içecekler tadım ettim. En iyi tarafı, bütün bunları yaparken yabancı dilimi geliştirerek eğlenmem oldu. İnsanlar çok dost canlısı ve yabancılara ulaşılabilirken gerçekten iyi hissettim. Herhangi bir şeye ihtiyacım olursa, uygun fiyat ve kalitede alışveriş yapabileceğim ve ziyaret edecek yerler için önerilerde bulunduğum her zaman bana yardımcı oldular. Mesleğim hakkında birçok fikir alabileceğim kişileri tanıtarak gelecek kariyerim hakkında birçok fikir aldım. Genel olarak, Erasmus stajı benim için bir macera oldu.
Melisa OYLUM – Beslenme ve Diyetetik – My Slim Form
ERASMUS staj programına Biruni Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Beslenme ve Diyetetik bölümü öğrencisi olarak 10/08/2022-10/10/2022 tarihleri arasında Almanya’nın Viernheim şehrinde, My Slim Form adlı kurumda 2 ay süre ile staj yaptım. Bu süre boyunca kendime akademik ve sosyal yönden birçok şey kattım. Bulunduğum ve gezdiğim Avrupa ülkelerinin geleneklerini ve kültürlerini daha yakından tanıdım. O kültürde ki insanlarla iletişim kurarak hem sosyalleştim hem de yabancı dilimi geliştirdim. Farklı ülkelerden birçok yeni arkadaşım oldu ve bu beni çok iyi hissettirdi. Ayrıca kişisel olarak da burada yaşadığım her şey beni fazlasıyla geliştirdi. Stajımı yaptığım kurumdaki diyetisyen hocam çok samimi biriydi. Her konuda elinden geldiği kadar yardımcı olmaya çalıştı. Bu kuruma gelen danışanlarla çok güzel iletişim kurdum ve kendimi bu yönde geliştirdim. Erasmus programı bana çok şey kattı. Çok güzel anılar biriktirdim ve çok fazla yeni tecrübeler kazandım. Arkama dönüp baktığımda iyi ki bu programa katılmışım diyorum. Hayat tecrübelerin tümüdür bu yüzden herkesin bu programa katılıp, bu tecrübeleri yaşaması gerektiğini düşünüyorum.
İfakat Zehra HALAÇOĞLU – Beslenme ve Diyetetik – My Slim Form

Kübra Nur KURNAZ – Diş Hekimliği – Zahnarztin R. Bektaş
Merhaba, Ben Biruni Üniversitesi 5. sınıf diş hekimliği öğrencisi Kübra Nur Kurnaz. 27 Haziran- 27 Ağustos tarihleri arasında 2021-2022 Erasmus Staj Hareketliliği projesine katıldım. Almanya’nın Köln şehrinde staj yaptım. Türkiye ile Almanya’da ki kliniklerin arasındaki benzerlik ve farklılıkları inceledim. Diş hekimliğine dair birçok işlemi yakından izleme fırsatı buldum. Hastanın kliniği gelişinden gidişine kadar ki her aşamayı; karşılama, anamnez, sisteme giriş vs. öğrenmiş oldum. Aynı zamanda ölçü alma, protez yapımı, dolgu, kanal, diş taşı temizliği ve birçok işlemi hem izleme hem bazılarını yaptım. Ekstra olarak implant üzerine yaptığımız eğitim de hem teorik hem pratik anlamda beni çok geliştirdi. Almanya’nın Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin, Mannheim, Heidelberg gibi farklı şehirlerini de gezdim ve Almanya kültürünü tarihini daha iyi tanımış oldum. Aynı zamanda Fransa, İsviçre, Hollanda, Belçika ülkelerini de gezdim. Kısacası hem mesleki hem kültürel anlamda unutulmaz deneyimler yaşadım. Hayallerimi gerçekleştirdim diyebilirim. Herkese tavsiye ederim her şey çok güzeldi.
Tuğçe BAVLI – Tıp Fakültesi – La Sapienza Üniversitesi
Ben Tuğçe Bavlı, Tıp fakültesi 5. Sınıf öğrencisiyim yaz tatili için La Sapienza Üniversitesi – Policlinico Umberto II hastanesinde 2 ay stajyerlik yaptım. Benim için eşsiz bir deneyim oldu. Hem mesleki açıdan hem de yeni yerler görüp keşfetmek için çok güzel bir fırsattı. Roma’yı ve yanında staj yaptığım hocalarımı çok sevdim ve dönerken ayrıldığım için çok üzgündüm. Stajımı yaparken hastane tarafından verilen süreler hem hastanede zaman geçirip kendimi geliştirmek için hem de Roma’yı ve çevre şehirleri gezmek için oldukça yeterliydi. Tekrar gitmek için sabırsızlanıyorum.

İlk birkaç hafta bana kliniğin işleyiş şeklini, malzeme ve aletlerin yerleri ile işlevleri detaylı bir şekilde anlatıldı. Bunun yanında her gün başka bir diş hekiminin yanında gözlem yaptım. Ortodontistin yanında diş teli takılması ve çıkarılması işlemlerinin yanı sıra ortodontide önemli olan noktaları anlatıldı. Ortodontide takibin çok önemli olduğunu ve bunun bu klinikte kullanılan sistemle ve ayrıca fotoğrafını çekerek de takip etmekte olduğu anlatıldı. Bir başka hastada üst çene genişletilmesi için farklı bir aparat takılarak hastanın 10 gün içerisinde çenesinin genişlemesine şahit oldum. Ölçü alımı ortodontide olmazsa olmazdır. Ölçü alırken dikkat etmem gerekenleri pratikte daha detaylı öğrendim. Ortodontinin yanında diğer 3 diş hekiminin yanında daha çok restorasyon, endodonti ve genellikle kontrol gözlemledim. Öncelikle kontrollerde film çekilerek tedavi belirleniyor ya da filmde tedavi edilmesi gereken bir durum yoksa 6 ay sonrasına bir daha kontrol randevusu veriliyor. Röntgen filmlerinin nasıl çekildiği öğretildi. Hem bitewings türü hem de OPG filmlerin nasıl çekileceğini öğrendim. Amalgam dolgu değiştirilmesi yapıldı ve bunu yaparken etrafa sıçramasının önlenmesi gerektiğini pratikte de görmüş oldum. Diş materyallerinin türünü ve nerede, nasıl kullanılacağını, Kanal tedavide kullanılan aletlerini, aynı şekilde kullanılan malzemelerin kanal içinde neyi çözdüğünü ve ne zaman kullanılması gerektiğini, Hollanda’da sağlık sektöründe diş hijyenisti olarak geçen yeni bir meslek öğrendim. Bu meslek hastalara düzenli bir şekilde diş temizliği yapıp hastaların diş etlerinin daha sağlıklı olmasını hedefliyor. Son olarak klinik beni Hollanda’nın en iyi, dünyanın ise en iyi üçüncü diş hekimliği fakültesi ACTA (ACADEMIC CENTRE for DENTISTRY AMSTERDAM) ile görüşmek için yönlendirdi. Fakülteyle iletişime geçince bana fakültenin turunu yaptırdılar. Klinikleri, simülasyon odalarını, amfilerini ve profesörlerin odalarını gezdim. Üniversitede dekan, periodontoloji bölüm başkanı ve ortodonti doktorlarından biri ile görüşme ayarladık. Bu Profesörlerle yüksek lisans ve master programlarını konuşarak bilgi aldım. ACTA bana diş hekimliği ile ilgili tamamen farklı bir bakış açısı kazandırdı. Hollanda’da iki ay bile olsa kendi mesleğim hakkında bilgilendirici ve beni daha iyi bir diş hekimi yapacak çok fazla değer öğrendim. Bu deneyimin beni olacağımdan çok daha iyi bir diş hekimi yapacağına eminim.
Zeynep İrem TOKSARI – Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik – Mision Biologica de Galicia (MBG), Agencia Estatal del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC)
Ben Zeynep İrem Toksarı, Biruni Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri fakültesi Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik bölümü 3. sınıf öğrencisiyim. Stajıma 2. sınıfın sonu, yaz döneminde 3 aylık gittim. Gittiğim yer İspanya, Pontevedra, CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) yani The Spanish National Research Council enstitüsüydü. Çalıştığım proje ise genetiğini değiştirerek gelecek için daha proteinli, daha besin değerleri yüksek baklagiller üretmekle ilgiliydi. Hem sahada, hem seralarda, hem bitkilerle direkt olarak hem de laboratuvarda çalıştım. Bu projeyi seçip başvurmamın sebebi aslında Dünya’nın geleceği içindi. Küresel ısınma, et tüketiminin artması, gıda sektörünün endüstriyelleşip hızlı tüketime dönmesi gibi sorunlar sürekli birbirlerine sebep oluyor ve kısır döngüye dönüşüyor. Bu da tabii ki Dünya’nın geleceği için tehlike oluşturuyor. Bu projenin amacı genelde etten sağlanan protein miktarını ve diğer besin değerlerini baklagillerden sağlayabilecek olmak, böylece et tüketimi gelecekte azalabilir ve doğa tekrar dengesine girebilir. Ayrıca vegan ve vejetaryen beslenen insanlar için de et yerine onu tüketmeden aynı miktarda protein alıp vücut için gerekli besin değeri dengesini sağlamaları açısından çok önemli bir proje olduğunu düşünüyorum. Ben bu kabul edildiğim enstitü ve projeyi, fakültemin Erasmus koordinatörü olan hocamın gönderdiği internet sitesinden bulup başvurmuştum. Fakültemin Erasmus koordinatörü olan Elif Sibel Aslan hocam ve okulumuzun Erasmus sürecinin her anında var olan Ebru Çelik hocam bana tüm süreçler boyunca yardımcı oldular. Zaman ilerledikçe, ben de prosedürleri öğrendim gerek oradaki supervisorımdan gerekse tecrübeli stajyer arkadaşlarımdan. İlk başta tecrübeli arkadaşlarımla beraber laboratuvarda çalışmaya, deneyleri ve işlemleri yapmaya başladım. Sonrasında ise artık ben de öğrenip tecrübeli hale geldiğim için artık deneyleri ve işlemleri tek başıma yapıyordum. Ben genel olarak Erasmus Staj Hareketliliği programı kapsamında yurtdışına gidip yaptığım stajımdan çok memnunum ve kesinlikle iyi ki gitmişim diyorum. Dönüş aşamasında da bir sıkıntı yaşamadım, buradaki ve oradaki hocalarım ve koordinatörlerim hep çok yardımcı oldu. Fırsatı olan ve gerçekten kariyerini önemseyip iyi bir yerlerde olmak isteyen herkese de öneririm. Kendim de tekrar başvuracağım tabii ki. Ben bu stajda çok fazla şey öğrendim ve direkt olarak tecrübe edindim, bunlar benim ve geleceğim için çok büyük artılar. Erasmus Staj Hareketliliğine başvurup gittiğim için çok mutluyum. Tüm bu süreçten çok memnunum, benim için her yönden çok güzel, çok avantaj sağlayacak bir tecrübe ve deneyim oldu.

At Piazza Gambull Hospital, we performed various maneuvers and performed hearing tests for vestibular and audiological balance disorders and dizziness in patients. During my two-month Erasmus internship, I had the opportunity to observe many things such as the functioning, working order of dentistry abroad, and the approach of doctors to patients, the materials used in the procedures, and getting experience by doing some procedures myself. After seeing lots of new cases and exchanging ideas about treatment ways, I was able to communicate with the patients and help the doctor who performed the procedure. I was able to observe the process of going to nursing homes, giving oral hygiene training to elderly patients there, listening to their problems and creating treatment plans. Since I had the opportunity to chat a lot in my free time with the friends where I did my internship, I was able to learn about their culture and thanks to that my foreign language improved and my self-confidence increased. I am sure that this two-month experience will benefit my career in the future, and I feel very lucky to have been accepted by the clinic where I worked.

What is a strong woman? How do you become a dentist who loves his job? I can say that I had an Erasmus internship where I found answers to these questions. With my internship mobility, I had the chance to watch various cases in prosthesis and surgery orthodontics and endodontics. In addition to that the instruments used in dentistry were good, the fact that all of the physicians were experts in one field changed the clinical functioning. I owe a lot to our clinic supervisor, Mila. who made me love my profession over and over again. What I learned from her life: No matter what we experience in life, we must get up and move on.

Rijeka means “river” in Croatian, and a river flows through the city, dividing it in half. Rijeka marina was one of my favorite places to spend time. Continuing from the marina and walking in the part called Port is big enough area to compansate the daily walking needs. Despite being the 3rd largest city in Croatia, Rijeka, a small city with 128,000 people, is home to the largest port and beautiful beaches.

Rijeka is a port city on the coast of the North Adriatic Sea, with its unpredictable weather and attractive and hospitable people. It may seem a bit calm and slow motion at first. But once you get there, you immediately warm up. In addition, I met students like us who came to the exchange program from different countries and I had very good friendships. The past 2 months have been very entertaining. Friendly and helpful staff made our job very easy. Especially, they made statements by helping us about diseases that we did not know. By teaching different techniques, I had the opportunity to compare with what we learned in Turkey. It was an internship where I used technological tools such as D-wall, Anti-gravity treadmill and had the opportunity to work.
Nurtaç Zeynep KALKAN – Nutrition and Dietetics – Lusofona University
I did my Erasmus internship, which I planned very eagerly this summer, at the University of Portugal-Lusofona. My internship position was a research assistant. Because I was interested in academy, I was looking for a research-related position in my internship process. My internship lasted 2 months, I spent the first month mostly working in the laboratory. We worked with my advisor and 3 PhD students on a polyphenol that we believe may be useful in diabetes patients. In the second month, I wrote a review on the Mediterranean diet and made my presentations. I gained experience and experience that I can’t get anywhere else, everything was very enjoyable and effective. I would like to thank my university and most importantly our university’s Erasmus office for always being there for me.

Being a doctor; Contrary to belief, it is not just to do your job, but to please your patients, to do your job in the best way, to be in coordination with your assistants, colleagues and other employees. I am grateful to the Happy Smile doctors and assistants who helped me understand that the difficulties and negativities I faced should not discourage or hinder me. I could not identify any department for specialization in my mind, and even I could even ask to myself if specialization was necessary. When I came here, I realized that I must be an expert in one area and I should improve myself by taking courses in at least two areas. Only in this way can I work properly and approach dentistry with a more holistic perspective. I left this clinic, which I came to with the Erasmus program, with a heartfelt bond. During my internship in Rijeka, I learned a lot about what it takes to be a physiotherapist and about myself in general. This experience with Erasmus was the first important step in my career journey and I can honestly say that I have grown a lot during this journey. As my strengths and weaknesses became more apparent, my internship experience consisted of a variety of challenges and excitements. Along this journey, I realized how much I really wanted to learn, as well as how much more I had to learn. Before my internship, I was worried about working with patients due to the language barrier, I didn’t trust my communication skills in a professional way, and I hesitated to finally perform my education and knowledge in a real-life. However, internship in Rijeka showed me that I just can do it all. Each day I was given new responsibilities, tasks and freedom, which only contributed to a continuous learning and growing experience. I’ll start by saying that they’re all practicing to tell about my various duties and responsibilities. My duties included: paperwork, daily patient charts, guidance on patients’ exercises, and assistance in various modalities. I loved having the opportunity to join hands; as well as assisting with heat modalities and how to operate the vasopneumatic machine, I learnt how to make appropriate electrical stimulation pad placements for different injuries. As time progressed my experience and connections with staff and patients grew, I found myself looking forward to my next internship day each weekday. All the patients I have had the opportunity to work with have truly integrated my experience. They were all so wonderful, fun, patient and understanding even though I constantly ask questions. And the staff in Rijeka were simply incredible. They guided and taught me everything all the way through. My questions are always welcomed and my work is always appreciated. There are many experiences and people that I have come into contact with during my internship that I will never forget. I was lucky to have a supervisor who inspired me tremendously. Summary of a physical therapist I hope to be one day. Interning with him showed me someone who is truly passionate about his career. I also now understand and experienced the difference physiotherapists can make in patients’ lives every day. It was absolutely amazing to see the progressive changes that patients have made since I’ve been here. They all want so badly to return to normal life without pain, discomfort and inactivity. Physical therapists grasp the power to help people get there. I find this incredibly rewarding and I hope, one day to change a person’s life in this way. Interning in Rijeka has opened my eyes to a wider perspective, better understanding and a greater passion for physical therapy as my future career. And Even though one door is closing, -now this internship has come to an end- the experience has opened many more doors for my future journey.

As a dentistry student, I went to Amsterdam with the Erasmus internship program. I completed my internship program in a dental clinic. To tell you from the beginning, although it may seem difficult to find a place to do an internship, everything is easily handled with lots of mails and a soft-spoken letter of intent. The rest is like a trip to the world of dreams. During the Erasmus Program, you have the opportunity to get to know many different people and cultures. Since you will spend a certain time there and get experience, you feel like a local. Not to mention the possibility that your English will improve. A legendary experience where you will add a lot to yourself in every sense. Exploring a new country, chatting with new and different thinkers, examining different methods in your own profession and making comparisons and adding this to your life are just a few of them. You are faced with the fact that cultural, religious and social differences can exist in harmony instead of creating an atmosphere of conflict, and this is the greatest wealth. You also have the opportunity to visit other countries. I think this process is not just getting to know a new country or people, but an opportunity to rediscover and get to know yourself. Even in a short time, you gain the experience of dealing with some difficulties alone during these 2 months. Both the problems we may experience in accommodation and the illness are the issues that you experience the feeling of being able to stand on your own feet in this process. Academically, you can see the stage of your department in the world. You observe many things, especially new methods, advanced technology, and the way they approach people. You see what chances you can give to your life and profession in the future. You compare with your country and turn to development options. Ofcourse, there are some disappointments after getting back. But let’s look at it as if we had an unforgettable experience.

I had the opportunity to do an internship in a dental clinic in Germany for about 2.5 months. During this time, I both learned German dentistry terminology and improved my German language. I think the biggest contribution of this program to me was observing the patient-physician relationship during the limited time I was in. It was very clear that there was much better communication and stress-free compared to the one in Turkey. Working conditions and the quality of the equipments are better. The insurance system was very advantageous for the patient, but not so much for the physicians. Culturally, I can say that the architecture of Germany is very beautiful. They have preserved their culture very well. It’s very common to see a 17th or 18th century building, while older buildings are nearly present. Even in villages, there are museums. The descriptions were usually in German, except for museums in very central locations. Even if you go to the ultimate corner of Turkey, you can find English explanations in the menu of a kebab restaurant, which shows how much Germans are interested in their own culture and how dependent we are on foreigners. In general, I can say that my Erasmus internship was a good experience. I am very glad that I participated in this program.

I had a useful internship about both professionally and learning a llanguage. Our University’s International Relations Office was very helpful and they supported it in the best way and helped very well.
Berat ORMAN – Dentistry – Clinica Lusiadas Almada
I did an internship in one of the European countries. I also preferred Lisbon, which I heard very often and which attracted me much more than other European countries. While going to internship clinic, I was very nervous on the first day because I do not know their language and I do not know how much English the public knows. But unlike other European countries, both my doctor and the Portuguese people speak English at a high rate and I had no problems with the language. There is interesting difference that the Portuguese patients were neither too warm nor cheerful. My time was generally spent watching my doctor’s procedures and noting down some of the key points he explained to me. Portugal, on the other hand, is a real paradise with its people from many different cultures, being the preferred holiday destination in Europe, being located by the ocean, its similarity to Istanbul (endless slopes, 7 hills where you can see every part of the city, different nations being intertwined) and its famous desserts. During this 2 month period, I tried to meet as many different people as I could, get to know their cultures, understand how they felt, and I spent my time learning how my profession works on the other side of the world. I think I have both gained an experience and accumulated memories by having done these alone.
İsmail İshak ARSLAN – Molecular Biology and Genetics – Technical University of Munich
I gained academic, socio-cultural and practical experiences during my internship on Ecology at the Technical University of Munich with Erasmus+. If I give an example of these experiences; I practiced speaking English by meeting new people, learned German culture and people and getting involved with the public. I became a more conscious individual about vital issues such as climate change by working on ecology. Their sensitivity to the environment led me to be more sensitive, I became a calmer person and I made previews for my master’s degree.

I was in Brussels, Belgium for 2 months as part of the Erasmus Programme. During the Erasmus Programme, I had the opportunity to get to know many different people and cultures. I had the opportunity to observe that cultural and social differences. I also had the chance to go and see other countries. It helped me a lot to seeing cultural differences. I also improved my foreign language. Academically, the clinic where I did my internship helped me see many new forms of treatment. It gave me the opportunity to compare the opportunities abroad with the country I live in. Maybe it allowed me to surgeries that I wouldn’t be able to see without a surgeon. It also enabled me to see some technological innovations in my field.
Ahmet Furkan SAY – Faculty of Medicine – Lahntalklinik Bad Ems
First of all, the institution where I did my internship; It was a clinic where patients came and continued their treatment for 3 weeks after orthopedic surgeries in order to minimize their mobility. During the rehabilitation, the patients were followed from the room numbers they stayed in the clinic. The patients had 3 types of treatments; Aufnahmeuntersuchung (first treatment), Visit (treatment and complaints 2-3 times a week for 3 weeks) and Abschlussuntersuchung (final treatments are done and their final conditions are evaluated, if necessary, the time that the patient should stay for 1 more week was extended by the doctor I was attached to during my internship). During the observation period, I attended meetings with the chief of the clinic and the doctors on duty every morning. At the meeting, the doctor who had been on duty the night before was making transfers. Even though it was not possible for me to deal with patients or take any action personally because I did not do an internship in Turkey before, I learned about how the treatment was done, which drugs were used, the hospital operating system and the health system in Germany in the presence of the doctor I observed. I even sterilized the sewing injuries of the patients and removed their sewings as much as possible. As a result, it was a very good experience for me. I hope I can find the opportunity to do internship at any Clinic or Praxiste next year.

I am Ali Keleş, 4th year Nutrition and Dietetics student at Biruni University. I did my Erasmus internship, in this summer, at the University of Lusofona in Lisbon, Portugal. My internship position was research assistant. My internship was 2 months and I spent my internship working in the laboratory. Together with my advisor and 1 doctoral student, I made analyzes and measurements in the laboratory during the R&D process of the project on “obtaining flour from wine grapes and the nutritional content and bioavailability of the obtained flour”. I wrote a review and made presentations on the results and analyzes I obtained. I gained experience and experience that I can’t get anywhere else, everything was very enjoyable and productive. I would like to thank my university and most importantly the Erasmus office of our university for always being there for me.

Begüm Özge ULUKAVAK – Pharmacy – University of Porto
Hello, I am Begüm Özge Ulukavak, 4th year student at Biruni University, Faculty of Pharmacy. I went to the 2021-2022 Erasmus learning program. My internship place is University of Porto, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Microbiology. During my internship, I observed laboratory studies and general functioning in the microbiology department. I learned about sterilization, the use of equipment, the preparation of solid and liquid materials for sterilization, the preparation of different culture media, the principles of aseptic technique, and general techniques and protocols. I had the opportunity to compare the techniques used in the microbiology laboratory in Turkey with the techniques used in Portugal. It has been a very valuable experience for me. During my internship, I had the chance to improve myself about English. I saw what it was like to work at a university in Europe. Erasmus is contributed a lot to myself in many ways. I started to understand basic Portuguese conversations. If you want to experience living in a new country I recommend you to experience the Erasmus program.

My Erasmus internship, in Valencia, Spain started in July 2022 and ended in September 2022. I think that I have improved in many ways during my 2-month Erasmus Internship process. First of all, I can speak English fluently now and I have a beginner level of Spanish language knowledge. I worked in a tourism company for Erasmus students and helped the office reach more audiences by managing the company’s social media, I worked in the office environment, I did project management, I guided the trips by organizing trips and I made sales by taking part in the marketing department of the office. My interest in the marketing department increased and I thought of doing a master’s in the marketing department. I met people from many different cultures and made very good friends, and now I look at the world from a very different perspective.

As a student of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Health Sciences, Biruni University, in the Erasmus internship program, I did an internship for 62 days at the institution called My SlimForm in Viernheim, Germany, in the summer of 2022. During this internship, I gained very important experiences in terms of both my academic and social life. During my internship, I had the opportunity to meet many people from different cultures and nationalities. The social life experience gained by living abroad as a foreigner and communicating with people has made a significant contribution to my personal development. I made lots of international friendships and this increased my self-confidence. Also, I believe that I have developed and changed in a positive way compared to my previous situation before participating in the Erasmus program. I did my best to promote and represent my country and culture in the best way possible. My internship helped me to speak English more fluently. Also, getting into daily life like someone living in Germany was a very different and beautiful experience for me. I had the chance to observe different diet and evaluation techniques that are not used in our country academically. I observed the perspective of people in Germany, healthy eating and had the chance to examine different anthropometric measuring devices. The dietitian with who I did my internship supported me in every way and was very helpful. He/she was very sufficient. In general, the ERASMUS internship mobility helped me develop myself culturally, socially and academically. It made me a more responsible person.
Burcu İrem SÖNMEZ – Molecular Biology and Genetics – Heinrich – Heine – Universitat
I completed my Erasmus internship for 2 months, at the Heinrich Heine University, Botany Institute of Dusseldorf, Germany. Both the laboratory staff and everyone I met in Düsseldorf were very kind, helpful and friendly during my internship period made it easier for me to get used to both the laboratory and the city. Plant molecular biology studied in the laboratory was a field that I was completely unfamiliar with, since it was my first internship and there were mostly animal biology courses in our school. But especially thank you to the help and patience of my advisor, Mather Khan. I got the best education I could get in 2 months and I learned a lot. It was an incredibly beautiful experience for me. The decision to go to Erasmus was the best decision I have ever made in my life.
Derya AKTAŞ – Molecular Biology and Genetics – Techische Universitat Dresden
With the Erasmus + program, Prof. Thorsten Mascher, Dresden Technical University, Faculty of Biology in the field of microbiology. Between 06.06.2022 – 30.09.2022, I had a wonderful internship experience in Germany under the supervision of “Dr. Diana Wolf” and “PhD student Tomislav Volosen”. I had the chance to do my summer internship in theirs lab. I had the opportunity to learn German discipline and professionalism, all technical issues related to laboratory work, in an environment of respect and friendship, in a perfect balance. In addition to the invaluable theoretical knowledge about general microbiology and the subject of my project, I had the opportunity to practice in a well-equipped laboratory. While doing all these works, I participated in very entertaining activities with the whole group and spent quality time. For this unique experience and Prof. Thorsten Mascher’s contributions to me, I would like to thank all the rest of the group. I would like to thank all Biruni University International Office staff, especially Rusen Bozdogan and Ebru Çelik, for their support and assistance to us both before and during the internship.
Doğa SABANCI – Dentistry – Kliniek Sint-Jan Clinique Saint-Jean
I spent one of my best summers because of the Erasmus+. In the summer of 2022, I did an internship in the clinic of a large hospital in Brussels for 2 months. Because of the very good facilities of the hospital I went to, I learned technologically advanced equipments that I had never seen before in clinics in Turkey. In addition, I had the opportunity to watch surgeries that I could not follow I specialized in surgery. Of course, erasmus not only gave me academic experience, but I also had plenty of time to travel during my internship. In this way, I saw new places and met new people.
Helin Serap ERTEKİN – Dentistry – Universita Degli Studi Di Torino
I’m Helin Serap Ertekin. I am a student of the faculty of dentistry. Within the scope of Erasmus internship mobility, I did my internship at Torino University Dental School between 1 July-1 September 2022. The University of Turin hospital was developed and technologically advanced place in current dentistry approaches. They were working with simulators, which have an important place in terms of health technology, and I had the opportunity to experience this. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to observe and be involved in all the treatment and following procedures. On the other hand, I had the opportunity to get to know different cultures as the university has a large number of international students. Experienced and highly successful professors will have an important place in my career. At the same time, it was quite eye-opening to visit and see different European cities on weekends and holidays. I would definitely recommend everyone who wants to participate in Erasmus to taste this experience.
İlkben DURUSOY – Dentistry – Zahnartztin R. Bektaş
I am İlkben Durusoy, I’m in my 5th year in dentistry at Biruni University. I participated in the Erasmus program in the summer term of the 2021-2022 academic year. Within the scope of this project, I did an internship for 2 months in a dental clinic in Cologne, Germany. Due to the high rate of speaking English in Germany and the Turkish density, I had no problems adapting to the country. During my internship, I had the opportunity to visit many cities in Germany such as Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Heidelberg, apart from Cologne. I learned about the history of Germany and learned German at the beginner level. Also, I had the opportunity to visit nearby countries such as Switzerland, the Netherlands, France and Belgium. Learning the cultures of these countries and meeting different people has contributed a lot to me socially. In the clinic, everybody has knowledge in many areas such as welcoming and examining the patient, taking x-rays, taking measurements, removing, applying fissure sealants and making temporary prostheses, sterilization stages. I had the opportunity to practice. I learned about Germany’s insurance system, clinic management and patient registration platform. During the treatments, I had the chance to observe many cases and evaluate them together with the dentist. In addition to these, we held a small implantology workshop. In short, this project has been an experience that has contributed a lot to me professionally and culturally. I have accumulated memories that I will never forget for the rest of my life. I recommend everyone who can find the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus program.
Sena ALTAY – Dentistry – Dr. Med. dent. Orcan Yuksel Zahnarzt
Hello everyone! Today I want to share my first internship experience with you. I did a two-month internship with Dr. Med. dent. Orcan Yuksel Zahnarztl. My Erasmus+ internship period started at the beginning of June and ended in August. If I need to tell the truth, doing an internship with the Erasmus+ program is an important opportunity to experience new things in your life. Going to a foreign country, getting a scholarship, traveling in your free time, improving your language skills, experiencing a different culture. In the first days of my internship, I met many people at the clinic. Think about it, even if they don’t speak English, they try to communicate with you and teach you what they know. I gained new knowledges and experiences with each patient. I gained a lot of new information especially about prosthetic planning and implant supported prostheses. In the clinic there was a laboratory where prosthetics were made. In the laboratory, I closely analyzed dental prostheses made of porcelain and metal materials. Actually, I had the opportunity to watch many surgeries, I was very lucky because of that. I have observed open sinus lift, closed sinus lift and graft treatments in implant surgeries. I met many people from different cultures. I had the opportunity to see different cultures and lifestyles. I had very good experiences staying alone in Europe for 2 months. Erasmus + internship provided me with very good experience and knowledge in every field.
Ahmet Hakan GÖRKAY – Biomedical Engineering – Uniclinic RWTH Aachen
During the internship, I learned many new laboratory techniques, made new friends, visited many cities, learned about different cultures and tasted different foods and drinks. The best part is that while I was doing all this, I had fun improving my foreign language. The people are very friendly and I felt really good with strangers. They were always helpful to me if I needed anything, making recommendations for places to visit and places to shop at affordable prices and quality. I got a lot of ideas about my future career by introducing people from who I can get many ideas about my job. So, the Erasmus internship was an adventure for me.
Melisa OYLUM – Nutrition and Dietetics – My Slim Form
As a student of the ERASMUS internship program, Biruni University Faculty of Health Sciences Nutrition and Dietetics Department, I did an internship for 2 months at My Slim Form in Viernheim, Germany, between 10/08/2022 and 10/10/2022. During this time, I have added many things to myself academically and socially. I got to know the traditions and cultures of the European countries I have been to and visited more closely. By communicating with people in that culture, I both socialized and improved my foreign language. I made many new friends from different countries and it made me feel very good. Also, personally, everything I’ve experienced here has improved me. My dietitian teacher at the institution where I did my internship was very sincere. She/he tried to help in every way. I communicated very well with the clients who came to this institution and I developed myself in this direction. Erasmus program has given me a lot. I have accumulated many good memories and gained a lot of new experiences. When I look back, I say I’m glad I participated in this program. Life is all about experiences, so I think everyone should participate in this program and have these experiences.
İfakat Zehra HALAÇOĞLU – Nutrition and Dietetics – My Slim Form
As a student of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Biruni University, Faculty of Health Sciences, in the Erasmus internship program, I did an internship for 2 months and 3 weeks at the institution called My Slim Form in Viernheim, Germany, in the summer of 2022. During this internship, I gained very important experiences for both of my academic and social life. I got to know the culture and people of the country which I live in. I tried to promote my own culture and country there in the best way possible. I made my foreign language more fluent. I had the opportunity to learn the language of the country I was in at the beginner level. The social life experience gained by living abroad as a foreigner and communicating with people has made a important contribution to my personal development. I made many international friendships and this increased my self-confidence. Also I believe that I have developed and changed in a positive way compared to my previous situation before participating in the Erasmus program. My dietitian teacher at the institution was a helpful person and tried to support me in every way. In the institution where I did my internship, I gained very important experience in terms of communicating with people. I developed myself. I did not have a dream of working abroad in my business life, but the social and cultural experiences that I have lived in a foreign country for a while are very valuable and have helped me in my personal development.
Kübra Nur KURNAZ – Dentistry – Zahnarztin R. Bektaş
Hello, I am Kübra Nur Kurnaz, I’m in my 5th year as dentistry student at Biruni University. Between 27 June and 27 August, I participated in the 2021-2022 Erasmus Internship Mobility project. I did my internship in Cologne, Germany. I analyzed the similarities and differences between the clinics in Turkey and Germany. I had the opportunity to closely follow many procedures related to dentistry. I learned every stage of the patient’s clinic from arrival to departure; anamnesis, system login etc. At the same time, I have done both monitoring and some of the processes such as measuring, prosthesis making, filling, canal, cleaning and many other procedures. In addition, our training on implants has improved me both theoretically and practically. I also visited different cities of Germany such as Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin, Mannheim, Heidelberg and got to know the history of German culture better. I also traveled to France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium. In short, I had unforgettable experiences both professionally and culturally. I can say that I have fulfilled my dreams. I recommend it to everyone, everything was very good.
Tuğçe BAVLI – Faculty of Medicine – La Sapienza University
I am Tuğçe Bavlı, I’m in my 5th year of medicine, and I worked as an intern for 2 months at La Sapienza University – Policlinico Umberto II hospital for summer vacation. It has been a unique experience for me. It was a great opportunity both professionally and to see and explore new places. I loved Rome and my teachers with who I did my internship, and I was very sad to leave on my return. While I was doing my internship, the time given by the hospital was quite enough to spend time in the hospital and improve myself, and to visit Rome and the surrounding cities. I can’t wait to go again.
Zeynep ALICI – Dentistry – Sanitas Tandheelkunde
In the first few weeks, I was understand in detail how the clinic works, the location and functions of materials and instruments. I observed every day in the presence of another dentist. In addition to the braces installation and removal processes, the important points in orthodontics were explained to the orthodontist. It was explained that following is very important in orthodontics and this is followed by the system used in this clinic and also by taking a photograph. In another patient, I witnessed the patient’s chin enlargement within 10 days by attaching a different apparatus for maxillary enlargement. Impression taking is essential in orthodontics. In practice, I learned in more detail what I should pay attention to when taking measurements. In addition to orthodontics, I observed more restoration, endodontics and generally check-ups next to 3 other dentists. First of all, the treatment is determined by filming during the controls, or if there is no condition that needs to be treated in the film, a following appointment is given 6 months later. Dentist was taught how to shoot X-ray films. I learned how to shoot both biting and OPG movies. Amalgam filling has been replaced and while doing this, I have seen in practice that it should be prevented from splashing around. I learned about the type of dental materials and where and how to use them, the instruments used in root canal treatment, what the same materials used dissolve in the canal and when they should be used, a new profession in the Netherlands as a dental hygienist in the health sector. This job aims to ensure that patients’ gums are healthier by regularly cleaning their teeth. Finally, the clinic directed me to meet with ACTA (ACADEMIC CENTER for DENTISTRY AMSTERDAM), the best dentistry faculty in the Netherlands and the third best in the world. When I contacted the faculty, they gave me a tour of the faculty. I visited clinics, simulation rooms, lecture theaters and professors’ rooms. We arranged to meet with the dean, the head of the periodontology department and one of the orthodontists at the university. I got information by talking to these professors about master’s and master’s programs. ACTA has given me a completely different perspective on dentistry. Even for two months in the Netherlands, I learned a lot of values that were informative about my profession and would make me a better dentist. I am confident that this experience will make me a much better dentist than I will ever be.
Zeynep İrem TOKSARI – Molecular Biology and Genetics – Mision Biologica de Galicia (MBG), Agencia Estatal del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC)
I am Zeynep İrem Toksarı, I studied Biruni University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Molecular Biology and Genetics Department 3rd year. I went to my internship at the end of 2nd grade, summer time for 3 months. I went to Spain, Pontevedra, CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) it means The Spanish National Research Council Instute. My working project is producing trips which contains more proteins and more food value for future by changing genetics. I have directly worked both in areas, greenhouses, plants in the laboratory. My reason of the applying to this project is for future of the world. Problems such as global warming, the increase in meat consumption, the industrialization of the food sector and return to speedy consumption are constantly causing each other and turning into a bad circle. So, this, will create problem for future of the world. The aim of this project is to be able to provide the amount of protein and other nutritional values obtained from meat in general from legumes, so that meat consumption can decrease in the future and nature can return to its balance. In addition, I think it is a very important project for vegan and vegetarian people in terms of getting the same amount of protein without consuming meat instead of meat and providing the necessary nutritional value balance for the body. I found this institute and project that I was accepted to, on the website of my teacher, who is the Erasmus coordinator of my faculty, and applied. Elif Sibel Aslan, the Erasmus coordinator of my faculty, and Ebru Çelik, who was present at every moment of the Erasmus process of our school, helped me throughout the whole process. As time progressed, I learned the procedures both from my supervisor there and from my experienced intern friends. At first, I started working in the laboratory, doing experiments and operations with my experienced friends. After, as I learned and became more experienced, I was now doing the experiments and operations on my own. In general, I am very satisfied with the internship I went abroad within the scope of Erasmus Internship Mobility program and I say that I am absolutely glad I went. I did not have any problems during the back to country phase, my teachers and coordinators here and there were always very helpful. I also recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity and cares about their career and wants to be in a good place. Of course, I will apply again. I learned a lot in this internship and gained experience, these are good for me and my future. I am very happy that I applied for the Erasmus Internship Mobility. I am very pleased with this whole process, it has been a very good experience for me in every way, which will be very advantageous.
